Brentwood Estate offered a sprawling, retreat-like setting for the family for which it was designed. In fact, the family has since sold the property, and it is now being used as a retreat center. The grounds include a main house plus three additional houses that accommodated the growing family. Recreational facilities include an outdoor tennis court, fire pits, horse shoe courts, conversational areas, swimming beach, boat docks/launches, and an indoor pool and sauna within the main house.
Several outbuildings provide recreational, storage, and support spaces. The rolling landscape was used to its advantage to create trails that meander among ponds and garden areas. Benches and gazebos throughout the grounds offer areas for conversation or quiet, personal contemplation. The family was integral to the design of every detail, and their Catholic faith is reflected in the many statues and custom pathway stones found among the gardens as well as the rosary path and rustic outdoor Stations of the Cross.
