Warroad Public Safety Building and MN DNR Area Headquarters
This project was developed as a joint venture between the City of Warroad and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. The facility includes office space, lodgings, dispatching, meeting space, asset storage, and support facilities. The building houses the City of Warroad’s Police, EMT, and Fire Departments as well as the Minnesota DNR’s area headquarters for Forestry and Enforcement operations.
The City of Warroad’s asset storage area is capable of storing up to three ambulances and six pumper or tanker fire trucks at one time. A separate garage is used for storage of two police cruisers, including one stall which serves as a sallyport. The DNR facility provides space for up to two tanker fire trucks. Office space is available for each department. Living quarters include a bedroom, day room, restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities serving both commercial and residential needs. Meeting and training rooms are shared, including an emergency operation center with individual dispatching and communication capabilities for each department.
