Forestview Middle School
The 340,000 square-foot middle school, located in the Brainerd/Baxter area, is designed to accommodate 2,200–2,400 students in grades 5–8. Generous use of windows and glass curtainwalls offer views of the site's 180 acres of managed woodlands and wetlands. Our architects flooded the common areas and classroom spaces with natural light to create a positive learning environment. From its stonework to its lofty exposed wood beams, the building's design blends well with its surroundings.
Home to approximately 2,200 students, the building’s "school within a school" design concept fosters a small, community feel. Separate wings and entrances are provided for each grade; common areas include the library, activity center, and a combined cafeteria/auditorium.
Electrical System Features: 15 KV primary electrical feeder with 1,000 KVA unitized substation distribution; lighting control system in the school's cafetorium allows for various uses of space; standby generator for food service.
