University of Minnesota-Crookston Kiehle Hall
WSN led the team responsible for the historic renovation of this 1910 performing arts building. The renovation included a new alumni center and rotunda addition, an addition to the Learning Resource Center, and development of a new technology center. Along with a 560-seat performing arts auditorium, the new addition houses the theater and supports the music department. The project encompasses 22,000 sq.ft. of renovated space and 18,000 sq.ft. of new space. The aesthetics of the addition and connecting structure complement the existing building and blend the new with the old. Landscaping gracefully blends the “new” Kiehle Building into the campus.
WSN is the Architect of Record, responsible for project management, coordination of all meetings, cost estimating, specifications, construction documents, and construction administration. Dewey Thorbeck is the Associated Architect for Design, with primary responsibility for schematic design and design development.
