The 193,000 sq.ft. Sanford Center offers a premier venue for social, cultural, and recreational events in north central Minnesota. The 4,000-seat arena includes event suites, club seating, and a lounge. The arena is the home of Bemidji State University’s Division I hockey programs and also provides an attractive venue for trade shows, concerts, conventions, and other events.
The Sanford Center exceeds Minnesota’s B3 Sustainable Building Guidelines and includes many energy reduction features. The facility includes an emergency/standby generator and energy-efficient lighting and heating systems. Our electrical team selected lighting and blackout shades specifically for high quality broadcasting events. Additional features include a lighting control system with touch panels strategically located around the building, color-changing LED fixtures on exterior columns to allow programming of light shows, and a 400 KW generator.
Located within the Village at South Shore, along picturesque Lake Bemidji, the event center offers a 14,000 sq.ft. lakeside conference facility surrounded by public parks, trails, and boat launching facilities. As the area continues to grow, the event center will play a key role in the dynamic commercial, entertainment, and residential development.
