LPTV Broadcast Facility

Bemidji, MN

Through a process that combined design charrettes, planning meetings, and ongoing discussions with LPTV's representatives and other stakeholders, WSN gained valuable insight into LPTV’s needs, goals, and visions for its new facility. This partnership has been essential to developing a state-of-the-art building that supports LPTV’s mission.

WSN provided digital 3D images in support of LPTV’s fundraising efforts and information campaign. The 17,600-square-foot building has a partial second floor with scenic views of a neighboring community fishing pond.

WSN authored the predesign manual that will be submitted to the state and is tracking performance and compliance with the B3 State of Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines. The facilities heating and cooling system exceeds Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines through the use of multiple geothermal water to air heat pumps throughout the building. WSN architects and engineers have applied several sustainable practices to ensure an optimal balance between meeting users’ needs and controlling operating costs.
