Widseth Smith Nolting’s Kate Van Hout and Vanessa Hines were recently selected to participate in the Journey to Growth Economic Development Initiative’s photographic exhibition showcasing diversity in the AEC workforce. The traveling exhibition reached eight southeast Minnesota communities and concluded last week at Mayo Clinic in downtown Rochester.

Van Hout is an architectural designer at WSN. She is a technology wizard when it comes to architectural design and enjoys participating in the public interaction side of the job. Hines is a civil engineer at WSN and likes the challenge of working on various infrastructure projects in the community.

Both of these professionals are under 30, well-respected for their craft and changing the face of the architecture and engineering world. With their expertise and youth, they are pushing forward an historically male-dominated industry.
