Widseth Smith Nolting was recently recognized by Lakes Area Professional Women in Alexandria with their 2018 Large Employer of The Year Award. The award honors businesses that show commitment to gender equality by promoting inclusiveness, flexibility, and employee development. Kirsten Plath, a Civil Engineer in the Alexandria office, was invited to speak about her experiences working at WSN on KXRA (see the link below).
WSN supports continued training and educational opportunities for employees and has developed a program called EDGE (Energy, Drive, Grit, Excellence). This program encourages employees to collaborate, share ideas, suggest improvements, provide feedback and recognize each other for accomplishments. Another new program provides career coaching, empowering employees to take control of their career paths.
Employees are encouraged to get involved in organizations and volunteer opportunities. In Alexandria, our employees have supported the Caring and Sharing Room, Douglas County Car Care Program, Alexandria Area High School programs, Adopt a Highway, local food shelf and more with volunteer and fundraising efforts.
