“WSN Hunger Games” provides support to local food shelves

WSN Brainerd/Baxter employees pose with the food (772 lbs.) and money ($600) collected by their office.

Widseth Smith Nolting has held food drives in each of its office locations for many years to support area food shelves. In 2015, a competition between our offices was born — the WSN Hunger Games. In its first year the competition raised $3,849 and collected 1,590 pounds of food. This year’s Hunger Games was an even bigger success, with $4,545 raised and 2,832 pounds of food collected, all of which was donated to area food shelves and organizations.

The office with the largest amount of food (pounds) plus money per employee wins the traveling trophy. Determining the pounds/dollars raised per capita makes it an even playing field for all offices, regardless of size. In 2015 WSN’s Alexandria office won with 58 pounds/dollars per employee. This year WSN’s Crookston office took home the trophy with 98 pounds/dollars per employee!

WSN is proud to give back to the communities we serve and we look forward to another successful WSN Hunger Games in 2017!
