Joey Weiss, PE, of Widseth Smith Nolting has successfully passed the exams and met the education and experience requirements necessary to become a licensed professional engineer by the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).
Joey graduated from Minnesota State University-Mankato with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He joined WSN as an engineer-in-training in 2014. As a civil engineer, Joey is responsible for design, inspection, and preparation of plans and specifications. He also develops project budgets/schedules, prepares engineering studies and reports, develops project design criteria, administers construction contracts during bidding/construction, and ensures that the client is kept informed.
“It’s nice to have some free time again after spending weeknights and weekends studying,” Joey says. “It just feels good to be done with all of the studying and then the waiting to get the results. Excited to begin my career as a licensed engineer!”
