May’s featured project on your WSN calendar: Hydrographic Surveying on Goose Lake

Nestled in the backwaters of the Mississippi River, Goose Lake was the subject of an enhancement and restoration project managed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. To restore the habitat and improve boat access, three to four feet of sediment was dredged from the lake. Widseth Smith Nolting conducted hydrographic surveys before dredging began and periodic quantity surveys to monitor the amount of accumulated sediment being removed.
