Edmunds Awarded First Jesse Haugen Scholarship

Bryan Balcome, Isaiah Edmunds, and Kevin Donnay

Isaiah Edmunds is the inaugural recipient of the Jesse Haugen Scholarship. Originally from Montevideo, Minn., Edmunds is studying land surveying and civil engineering technology at North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS). Joining him at a celebratory luncheon held December 11, 2019, are Bryan Balcome, vice president and land survey coordinator for Widseth Smith Nolting (WSN), and Kevin Donnay, NDSCS alumnus and president of WSN.

WSN established the scholarship in memory of Jesse Haugen, a 2001 graduate of NDSCS’s land surveying and civil engineering technology program. Jesse worked in WSN’s Bemidji office from 2011 until his untimely death in 2018. A great employee, husband, and father, Jesse was known for his contagious positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dedication to his wife and their two young children.

Through the Jesse Haugen Scholarship, WSN honors Jesse’s memory by encouraging NDSCS land surveying and civil engineering technology students to follow their passion.
