$22.6 million in TEDI grants available for roads & public infrastructure projects

The Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) program is designed to help governments obtain money for highway improvement and public infrastructure projects. Here’s what you need to know about the program. 

WHO’S ELIGIBLE:
Governmental entities as defined by state law.

WHAT IT’S FOR:
The Transportation Economic Development Infrastructure (TEDI) program provides grant funding to communities for road and public infrastructure projects that create jobs and support economic development.

Applicants must be governmental entities as defined by state law. Private entities may enter into agreements with eligible applicants to request funding for eligible public infrastructure and transportation projects.
TYPE OF FUNDING:
Grant. There is no limit to grant amounts, but projects with a modest state request & maximized leverage from non-state and public sources are most competitive. A total of $22.6 million is available for 2017.

FUNDING SUCCESS:
A recent WSN project funded through the previous program name (TED) includes the 2014 International Falls Multi-Modal district utilities project, during which utilities and a rail spur to the multi-modal district were installed to allow for the creation of roughly fifty jobs. Multi Modal Website
