Grand Forks’ senior population is anticipated to grow significantly, and demand for very affordable housing options is also expected to increase. Cherrywood Village is a 30-unit affordable housing apartment complex offering accessible units to individuals age 62 and older. This new option in senior living serves as a positive addition to the community.

Students and staff flooded into Wadena’s new facility, which includes a storm shelter, on the first day of school in 2012.

Six years ago today the City of Wadena was hit with an EF4 tornado that did considerable damage throughout the town and surrounding area. High winds damaged the public high school roof and walls, and rain destroyed much of the interior finishes. The school was thought to be a total loss. Thankfully, the tornado struck during summer vacation, and the building was not full of students. If it had passed through a few weeks earlier, the end result would have been much worse. Widseth Smith Nolting Welcomes Szustek

Jim Szustek has joined the staff at Widseth Smith Nolting. With more than 35 years of electrical engineering experience, he is a licensed professional engineer in Minnesota. Szustek has experience with lighting design, power distribution, MCCs, generators, equipment sizing, and PLC/DCS controls for industrial, educational, and commercial building types.
