All paving work has been completed for the 2017 projects. This season of road construction has successfully concluded. Thank you very much for your patience this past summer!

Project Status Report – 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements

Driveway shaping, graveling, and paving is being completed this week in preparation for paving the second lift of bituminous roadway pavement. Pending weather conditions, roadway paving will be completed in the next 5-7 days. Mailboxes will be transferred to the new mailbox supports this week. Topsoil has been roughed in, and will be finish-graded after road paving is completed. Road striping will be painted on Anchor Point Road and Tamarack Road. Turf restoration, seeding and mulching, will follow. Please maintain safe speeds around construction workers and equipment. Thank you for your patience.

Project Status Report – 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements

The Contractor’s schedule has been updated and posted on the Project Web Page on the City’s web site. The paving sub-contractor is scheduled to begin final grading the roadways the end of this week in preparation for paving the following week. Rain has delayed progress and paving schedules. If the schedule changes, updates will be posted.

Project Status Report – 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements

The schedule for pavement reclamation on Anchor Point Road has been changed to begin on Friday, July 14th, and will be completed on July 15th. All roadways will be maintained as temporary gravel roadways until final shaping and paving can be completed. The Contractor’s schedule has been posted on the Project Web Page on the City’s web site. The contractor’s schedule is subject to change pending weather and work progress, and will be updated periodically. Residents are urged to use caution when traveling through the work zones, expect occasional delays, and to drive at safe speeds. Thank you for your patience.

Road construction will begin on July 10, 2017, commencing with pavement removals on Tamarack Road. Pavements on Anchor Point and Milinda Shores Roads are tentatively scheduled to be reclaimed (ground-in-place) on July 13 and 14. All roadways will be maintained as temporary gravel roadways until final shaping and paving can be completed. The Contractor’s schedule has been posted on the Project Web Page on the City’s web site. The contractor’s schedule is subject to change pending weather and work progress, and will be updated periodically. Residents are urged to use caution when traveling through the work zones, expect occasional delays, and to drive at safe speeds. Thank you for your patience.

Project Status Report – 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements

A contract has been signed with DeChantal Excavating of Brainerd, MN. A Pre-Construction Conference has been scheduled for June 14, 2017 at 2:00PM at City Hall to review the Contractor’s proposed schedule and to coordinate construction with utility owners. Construction is planned to begin after July 4, 2017. The Contractor’s paving subcontractor is Anderson Brothers Construction of Brainerd. Property owners that wish to coordinate private driveway paving in conjunction with the City’s contractor should contact DeChantal/Anderson Brothers directly.

Project Status Report – 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements

Bids were received on April 6, 2017, and the apparent low bidder is DeChantal Excavating of Brainerd, MN. Utility relocations are in process in preparation for road construction. Preliminary schedule discussed with the Contractor indicated construction will not begin until after July 4, 2017; however, this is preliminary and subject to change. Informational newsletters were mailed to property owners, click here to read the letter. Award of the project has been recommended to the City Council, and this will be acted upon at the May 8, 2017 Council meeting.

Project Status Report — 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements 

The City Council authorized preparation of Right-of-Way Plats for Anchor Point Road and Milinda Shores Road at their February 13, 2017 meeting. The Plats have been prepared and submitted to the City Attorney for preparation of conveyance documents.

The City Council, at their March 13, 2017 meeting, removed Daggett Bay Road and East Shore Road from the 2017 improvement projects.

The 2017 street improvement projects will be advertised for bids beginning the week of March 20th, and bids will be received on April 6th.

Further updates will be provided as the projects progress.

Project Status Report — 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements 

The 2017 Crosslake Street Improvements were authorized by the City Council in September 2016, and include the following pavement re-surfacing and reconstruction projects:

  1. Milinda Shores Road – Pavement re-surfacing from the Ideal Township Line to the Milinda Shores Bridge and to the end of the City-maintained portion eastward on the point;
  2. Anchor Point Road – Pavement reconstruction from CSAH 66 to Ginseng Patch Road intersection, and including a proposed 6-foot wide extended paved shoulder on the north side for multi-use;
  3. Tamarack Road – Approximately 600 feet of curve realignment and re-construction.

Plans and bidding documents are currently being prepared. Preliminary plans will be reviewed at the Public Works Commission meeting scheduled for February 6, 2017, at 4:00PM at City Hall. Pending favorable bids, and award of a Contract, construction would begin after spring load-restrictions are removed, and would commence for the next 2-3 months per the Contractor schedule. Further updates will be provided as the projects progress.
